Spider Rockets "Rip Your Heart Out" video premiere

Music-News.com is proud to host the exclusive world premiere of "Rip Your Heart Out" by Spider Rockets.

It’s the Garden State’s least-known stretch of coast, although it is the closest to New York City, hidden in plain view at the northern edge of Monmouth County. The Bayshore has its own communities, its own beaches, its own amusement parks, its own traditions, and its own distinctive sound. In New Jersey, it has long been recognized as the cradle of great hard rock bands — outspoken bands, ones with catchy songs and fierce independent streaks. The Bayshore is home to bands determined to play any dive and any basement to get their message out, but who’ve got sounds and skills worthy of presentation in any arena in America. Spider Rockets is headquartered in Hazlet, NJ, a classic Jersey highway town minutes from the water, and they epitomize the regional attitude.

And while the group is independent in every sense of the word, it’s built a dedicated national following for its distinctive combination of two-fisted blues rock, classic Turnpike metal, alternative music, noisy punk, and a pinch of singalong pop, too. Spider Rockets has toured with Saliva, Trapt, Puddle of Mudd, Saving Abel, and many others, and has won new adherents with every searing show. This is music for high-speed summertime drives – and summer is right around the corner. Along Came A Spider is Spider Rockets’ fifth album, and its most self-assured and raucous, too. Spider Rockets’ frontwoman, Helena Cos, has always had a voice that stands up to the formidable sonic assault of her group, but this time, she crashes into the songs like a hurricane barreling ashore. Some credit for that must go to producer Dan Malsch who has also manned the boards for Tantric and Doro. Then again, Spider Rockets has always worked with first-rate hard rock producers, including Eric Rachel (Atreyu, Hatebreed) and the legendary Martin Bisi (Sonic Youth, Swans). Just call Spider Rockets a band of musicians whose time has come, and who have reached the top of their game, just as the world is starting to take notice.

“Rip Your Heart Out” is a storytelling song from Spider Rockets: a cautionary tale about love gone wrong, delivered by a singer who has seen her share of romantic disasters. The band has paired the track with anime, which brings the story to life and director Roman Fernandez cleverly accentuates its most outrageous features.

Naturally for a Bayshore band, much of the drama takes place at a seaside amusement park, where every thrill ride evokes the ups and downs of a relationship in turmoil. You don’t have to be from New Jersey to appreciate the metaphor — but to be honest, it probably helps.

New Album ‘Along Came A Spider’ Out This Friday

“Spider Rockets are a band that sounds great on record & are doubly-good live. Also a huge plus to see a strong female front person in hard rock. When THEY play, YOU pay attention.”

-Don Jamieson – Comedian/Heavy Metal Aficionado-

New Jersey’s Spider Rockets are just days away from the release of their fifth full-length album ‘Along Came A Spider,’ this Friday January 26th via P-Dog Records. The album is available for pre-order HERE.

Today, the band have partnered up with New Noise Magazine for the premiere of their new single “Rip Your Heart Out.” Describing the song, singer Helena Cos says “we’ve all met the crazy chick who doesn’t know when to stop and will pull every dirty trick to entrap a guy. And we’ve all met the stupid guy who’s willing to give it all away no matter the cost just to get some. This is the story of when these two flawed characters meet. It’s a recipe for disaster. But, they totally deserve each other. To some people, this is romance….” Check out the exclusive stream for “Rip Your Heart Out” on New Noise Magazine.

Also, check out the lyric video for the album’s first single, “Sick,” HERE.

Spider Rockets hit the studio for their fifth full-length release, this time with producer Dan Malsch (Framing Hanley, Tantric, and Doro). ‘Along Came A Spider’ takes the group’s songwriting philosophy one step further with lush production coupled with the group’s distinct brand of unapologetic in-your-face sound and attitude.

Spider Rockets’ previous release, ‘Bitten,’ was named one of the Top 10 Hard Rock Albums of 2012 by MetalOdyssey.com. On rock radio cage matches, Spider Rockets triumphed over respectable heavy hitters like Five Finger Death Punch, Pennywise, Hellyeah, and others. Also, the group’s track, "Going Down," became WWE darling, Charlotte Flair's (daughter of the legendary Ric Flair), walk-out and victory theme song during her 2014 season.

New Jersey Natives Release Lyric Video "Sick"

December 7, 2017

Spider Rockets Returns to Make You “Sick”

After a five-year wait, New Jersey’s Spider Rockets are at long last rolling out the lyric video to support their new single, “Sick.” The single is from the group’s upcoming full album release, Along Came A Spider, due out early 2018.

Watch the exclusive premiere of the lyric video via Pop Matters HERE.

The new lyric video is a bit of a departure from the typical After Effects, graphics-driven lyric video flooding the current scene. “We wanted to keep it organic, flowing, and to reflect the theme of the actual song,” reveals lead singer, Helena Cos. The video frames a scene set on a bar top where an unwilling female hand is passing handwritten notes (the song’s lyrics) to a captive audience of one - a male hand on the receiving end. Suffice it to say the evening doesn’t go very well for the bar fly looking for a hookup. “It was all shot in a single take with no edits,” adds guitarist, John Nap. “This made the shoot really fun, but we definitely have new respect for bands that do this kind of stuff. It’s really hard to get all the action just right without screwing something up and then fixing it in post!”

The band’s new album is the long-awaited follow up to 2012’s, Bitten, which MetalOdyssey.com named as one of their Top 10 Hard Rock Albums of the year. Bitten also spawned the single “Going Down”, which was adopted by Charlotte Flair of the WWE (daughter to wrestling icon, Ric Flair) as her introduction and victory theme song for much of 2014.

“Sick,” as well as the rest of the new material, follows in the footsteps of Spider Rockets’ previous album - delivering their brand of lean and mean, straight-ahead rock that has earned them their no-nonsense reputation. When asked why “Sick” was chosen to mark their return, Helena confessed - “Keeping angry feelings bottled up inside rarely works for us. So, instead, we share them in a song. Unicorns and rainbows? Hell no! We’re here to kick your ass and make you sick.”

The group is currently planning some live dates for the New Year, so keep your eyes open, especially in the northeastern United States. Spider Rockets’ “Sick” will be available for download via most online music sites tomorrow, Friday, December 8th.

SPIDER ROCKETS Debut Lyric Video For “Break”

Song Taken From Band’s Latest Release Bitten

Everyone has been Bitten by the infectious sounds of New Jersey’s SPIDER ROCKETS. The album has received some real love from press and made Top Adds on the CMJ Metal charts. At secondary market active rock, SPIDER ROCKETS triumphed over respectable heavy hitters like Five Finger Death Punch, Pennywise, Hellyeah and other kick-ass contenders. Since the release of Bitten, the group has toured with Trapt, opened for the likes of Papa Roach, Steel Panther, Saigon Kick, and their track, "Going Down," was picked up by the WWE and served as wrestler Charlotte Flair's entrance AND victory theme for 2 quarters of 2014.

Now the band is pleased to debut their FIRST EVER lyric video for the song “Break.” For the concept, the band wanted to make this a fun video to watch and was drawn to powerful and dramatic pulp art from the 1930's through the early 1960s. The video was created and directed by Jason Nappi and Roman Fernandez.

"People on the verge, mummies, aliens, monsters and spiders -- what's not to like?” says frontwoman Helena Cos. Check out the video HERE!

Bitten is available for purchase via iTunes and Amazon.

SPIDER ROCKETS combines contemporary loud rock with classic rock elements. The New Jersey based band travels the sonic spectrum from dark and seductive to energetic to angry, with a dynamic live show and scream-along anthems. Interestingly enough for a band called SPIDER ROCKETS, it is a bit strange that members of the band are afraid of spiders.… Although, it seems that they may be starting to overcome their fear based on the title of their album, Bitten.

On Bitten, the band worked once again with producer Eric Rachel in New Jersey. In South Florida, Ryan Sambrook provided additional production and Zach Ziskin mixed the album. From both a compositional and performance standpoint, Bitten is the group’s strongest work to date. Long before completion of the record, an early rendition of one stand-out track “Scream,” garnered over 35,000 hits on YouTube without any promotional efforts and no official release.
